In Honor of Rabbi Yaacov Haber

Rabbi Yaacov Haber has touched the lives of countless Jews across the world for nearly half a century.

For Kehillas Shivtei Yeshurun, Rabbi Haber has been the beloved Rav and guide to its members for over 15 years.  But Rabbi Haber is so much more than a shul Rav.  Since moving to Ramat Beit Shemesh he has become integrally involved in the growth of the greater RBS community, fielding questions daily on social and educational issues.

Rabbi Haber serves as the posek of Lema’an Achai, the world-renowned ‘Smart Chesed’ organization of RBS that curbs the cycle of poverty and has put hundreds of families back on their feet.  He is the founding Rav and works closely with the educational staff of the Netzach Yisroel boys and girls elementary schools, which draw students from all over the ever-expanding RBS neighborhoods.  Similarly, the popular Bnei Hashraah youth movement has turned to Rabbi Haber for guidance and support since its inception.  (KSY is proud that each of these organizations was founded or is run by its very own members!)

After inspiring thousands through his own teaching and writing, Rabbi Haber established Mosaica Press, an international publishing company that enables others to do the same. 

Even before moving to Israel, Rabbi Haber was well known as an expert in Jewish education, and a sought-after speaker.  As the founder and director of the Torah Center of Buffalo, the founder of the Australian Institute of Torah, the national director of Jewish Education for the OU, and the Rav of Congregation Bais Torah of Monsey (amongst his many other accomplishments), Rabbi Haber’s impact and inspiration will continue to shape the Jewish people for generations.
